| St. Michael's was of course burned down in the blitz during World War II & has no roof. The first foliate head is the only Green Man I have been able to locate on the spire. The others are found at the top of the walls at the other end, the University end, rubbing shoulders with all kinds of other interesting faces. There are more leaf masks than shown here & it's well worth taking a good look! Inside there are also some interesting carvings. |
